Why You Should Start Following Your Intuition

Over the past few months, I’ve been working intensely on my coaching business and have probably created hundreds of different frameworks at this point.

It was only recently, when I started working with a business coach (best decision ever!), that I realized the key element in my life, the thing that has helped me through major life transitions over the last 5 years: and that has always been following my intuition relentlessly.

It’s no surprise that I recently received a certificate as an Intuitive Coach, but regardless, I kept trying to figure out what it was that I wanted to help people with, and what my own transformation was.

I spent days and days and weeks thinking: but HOW can I help people? Because sometimes I feel like I don’t even know HOW I did it…

Change happens gradually

We often think of change as something linear, or a one-time decision that solves all the pain points at once — BOOM, here’s your new life.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that it’s not like that: change happens gradually. Change happens when you make the bold decision to DO it. To take the first step, to finally believe in yourself — and that belief will put all the other things in place, and eventually unfold in a chain of transformations that allow you to choose yourself over and over again.

So it’s not a one-time thing, it’s a decision to constantly stand up for yourself and believe in what you want.

In my meditation yesterday, I had flashbacks to my time in Zanzibar (a tropical island in Tanzania where I lived 2 years ago) and how strongly I felt about what I wanted for my life. I know that my time there changed me and that I will never be able to fully explain it. But something clicked, and it will stay with me forever. I just recently neglected to connect with that exact same feeling.

The power is in the routines

I also realized that HOW I actually managed to trust and follow my intuition was to become more and more committed to my routines: daily sunrise & walk on the beach, workouts, journaling, meditations, and more…

I started to choose wisely who I surrounded myself with, stopped partying and drinking, consumed information that expanded my horizons instead of channeling my fear, and became more protective of my time and energy.

Yesterday, I had this thought: “The bigger your life vision, the smaller your life.” — Fewer distractions, fewer people, less drama, less self-doubt.

So, I guess following your intuition is a mix of spirituality and being super practical about your life. It’s also an invitation to practice letting go. I am still practicing that, by the way.

Following your intuition is a daily practice

The key to a more aligned life is within you, and you can turn it around at any time.

I strongly believe that life should be joyful and enriching. We can choose how we see it, and especially what we do on a daily basis to “feed” ourselves and our vision.

Following your intuition is a daily practice. Be unapologetic about it. Here’s how you can start today:

  1. Daily workout
  2. Daily sunrise or sunset
  3. Daily reading
  4. Daily meditation
  5. Daily sleep routine

Your energy is THE most important thing: your energy determines where your attention goes and what you attract in life. It is like a magnet, so choose wisely what you want to attract into your world. Your intuition is here to help you, it knows things before you know them, and there’s a lot of scientific evidence for this — so start listening to it :)
