Why Hummus connects people

Like so often I was looking for Hummus
This time in Athens

I was following a recommendation (from the hostel guy) and I found more than “just a Hummus place”

I found peace in silence
I found Moataz

A beautiful human
With deepness in his soul
Something mellow
Something that told his story

Without words having to describe it
Without proliferating his life through speech

We just sat
In harmony
No where else to be
Not thinking about “what do I have to do next?”
Not feeling the need to text

Being almost isolated in a bubble of energy
No need to see
Outside of it

Until it hit
“I have to leave to the airport!”

I wish I could have stayed any longer
Make this feeling grow stronger

When I left
I was just calm
Blessed by his charm
Touched by his story
And commitment
To make a change
To actually provide the help for others
That he didn’t get

While not being resentful
Rather content
I don’t think we can ever fully comprehend

His strength.

I honestly wish him all the best ♥️
